Here’s the story behind my boob job! My why, where I went, and how I feel about them now – two and a half years later. (Links to Doc & Products at Bottom)
I’ve always wanted boobs! Growing up I waited and waited for the day that mine would come in… I mean I literally prayed to God every night that my boobs would one day just magically appear & they never really did! Nikki Bella, Megan Fox, and literally every girl in the old country music videos inspired me and kept me waiting for mine to come along, until I realized they were all fake!! Lol!! So, I started to save for my new boobs through college. I had begged and begged my Dad for years to buy them for me and his answer was always “Absolutely not, that is so weird!!!” which, I mean, is completely valid now looking back.
I got my boobs done December 18, 2020. I was 22, fresh out of college, and ready to take on the world. Now, I searched surgeons all over the state to find one I trusted and liked. During my search I looked at their lift/reduction galleries, because if they can do a good lift, they can easily do amazing implants! That’s when I stumbled across Michael B Stevens in Visalia. I LOVE him! The capitalization is not dramatic, he is literally the best. Since my surgery, six more of my friends have gotten their surgeries with Dr. Stevens and theirs all look fabulous as well!!! When I went to my first appointment, he took my measurements and gave me my size range to try… 400cc-600cc… If everyone hadn’t talked me down, I would have gone bigger, but ended up going with 450cc. Although I am 100% in love and happy with my size, I still to this day would go bigger, just because they’re so fun. For material, I went with saline. This was mainly because that was Dr. Stevens recommendation, but also because I had this irrational fear of dying due to an unknown silicone implant rupture. Dr. Stevens went through my underarm through a little tiny incision that you can’t really even see today. Over all I couldn’t be happier with my decision and results. I always tell people they’re one of the best things to ever happen to me LOL!
Breast implants, lifts, and reductions, are all way more common than you may think. The amount of people I have run into since my surgery who also have some sort of fake breast situation is quite wild! My response to anyone who has to deal with the haters who say “you shouldn’t make changes to your body,” “you’re plastic,” “you’re fake,” “you shouldn’t wear that,” “that is so revealing,” “don’t you look sexy.” DO YOU! BE YOU! Don’t let others try and put you down for making yourself happy! People always say that a surgery won’t make you happier, but honestly, I am genuinely so much happier and confident in my skin. Getting boobs was something I knew I wanted, I planned for YEARS, and there was no way I was going to regret it. It’s something you have to want for YOU and that you do for YOURSELF!
POST-PROCEDURE
My boobs were terrifying for the first 2 months - so swollen, so high, and let’s not even mention my nipples. This is something that just comes along with a good boob job. I must say they were still a little swollen for almost 6 months.
With all of my family and friends who previously had breast implants, I had all the tips and tricks to make sure I healed great and they stayed beautiful. Now, I’ll share them with you!
TIPS & TRICKS
Follow proper aftercare! I don’t care if you feel like you should lift your arms, workout, or pick up your kid right after surgery, there are reasons why your doctor says you shouldn’t and you should follow that! You’re paying so much for this procedure, why would you go ruin it and your health and safety just because you don’t want to follow directions.
Wear a bra every. single. night to bed… I cannot emphasize this enough!!! If you don’t wear a bra, while you sleep your implants have the chance to migrate to your armpit, or really wherever they want. I wear the jockeys front zip in a size small that I buy on amazon. It’s the most comfortable, as it’s stretchy but still supportive and will shrink back to its normal size after a wash&dry sesh. I wear a bra as much as possible throughout the day as well, unless I’m wearing a shirt that looks better without one.
Anese Boob Mask … I swear this saved me from getting stretch marks and helped to hydrate, calm, and firm!
BioOil… Starting before my surgery I began to layer my boobs in BioOil. After my surgery I then did my daily massage with BioOil. After surgery, I had instructions to push them down for a little… after that was over I always lightly pushed mine inwards and up.
MASSAGE with BioOil!!! For the first few months, I made it a habit to massage them 2-3 times a day for a few minutes each to stimulate circulation, promote lymphatic drainage, and to keep them soft and natural. I still massage them nightly with BioOil and my CeraVe lotion.
